If this isn't nipped, maybe someday in the future Iraq will be "freeing" us from our religous state.

The tax-exempt status is a great tool that I believe needs to be fully utilized. That way, if people want to form an organization, such as CUTLOVE, Christians Under Traditional Laws of Outcasting a Viable Environmental future, they are free to, but not under the curtain of non-for profit religion.

Thanks E! We miss you... especially at parties like that, rock star! :)

On the political question, the idea that church and state were less seperated by our founding fathers is inaccurate. Our founding fathers purposefully made for seperation of C&S provisions in our constitution specifically _because_ they did not exist in England, where the Church of England was so intertwined with the Government, and what many of the first settlers came here to escape!

I find it interesting in this day and age that evangelicals wouldn't push harder for the seperation of church & state. Ask yourself this question: If the church & state are allowed to mix more freely, would I think this was a good thing if the "church" that was mixing in was Islamic fundamentalism?
