Repub Convention

So I'm really amazed that Arnold and McCain can get up there as moderates and speak with such (obviously BS) "passion" about W. Politics at it's best.

And WHAT was up w/ the Bush twins? I'm sorry, but that was horrible. Talk about a couple of gigly over-grown sorority girls. Sheesh. On prime time nonetheless.

I'm not sure we have the right to question Arnold's motives. He is, after all, a cyborg sent back from the future to either terminate or protect John Conner, depending on which iteration of time-travelling T100 we're dealing with.

Given that he's from the future, he most likely already knows the outcome of the election (he's programmed to know about human history which makes him a more effective terminator).

It's possible that McCain was actually replaced by a T1000 unit that resembles McCain. This is accomplished when the liquid metal terminator "samples" a lifeform by touching them. This could also mean that the real McCain is dead. The good news is that the McCain we saw on stage, while deadly, can only form stabbing objects such as knives and spears. Bombs on the other hand, have moving parts and chemicals so it doesn't work that way with T1000 units.

But if he's a cyborg from the future, he's obviously going to malfunction and end up trying to kill off the whole human race. And while I'm sure Bruce Willis could step up and save us (making for another outstanding action-packed film), since he too has been assymilated into the republican media machine he will no doubt join forces with the cyborg. We have no choice but to turn to the only true action hero of this entire campaign that can save us: Howard Dean! YYYYYYYYYyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

arnold comes across as a boob. he cited nixon as his inspiration for becoming a republican? he could at least picked goldwater. at least someone who didn't have to resign the presidency in disgrace.

mccain disspoints me. he has been very open and honest about many of his beliefs which don't mirror bushes. how can he honestly say he admires him? i don't believe it.

Re: comment 2, I think you underestimate the sohpistication of these cyborgs. I don't think its inevitable that the T100 would malfunction, and we have yet to see proof of any such thing. Remember that the T100 uses a positronic brain and surely the original design that was crafted by Miles Dyson was enhanced by SkyNet.

alright, anonygeek - put the pictures of Jerry Ryan down.

The newest issue of The New Republic (highly recommended rag, btw - http://www.tnr.com) has a great front-cover article on how and why Guiliani and McCain sold out to the Bushies. The answer in both cases is: 2008. Not sure if this article is for members only but you can try it.

The latest issue of Swank has a great pictorial on Mexican donkey shows. The bottom line -- bring a raincoat (o poncho si se habla espanol).
